I have been feeling lost this term as far as writing an
Advocacy Plan goes. I am doing my best but I still feel like I do not have a
clear idea or an example of what a good Advocacy Plan looks like. I have also
been missing points for APA style. I feel a good use of my time would be to
review APA style. Do any classmates have a good understanding of how to write a
well written Advocacy Plan? If someone has a good resource for writing a plan I
would appreciate if they will share the information. One resource I found helpful was the textbook
for the class. The textbook has a lot of good information about what it means
to be a good advocate.
Charla,
ReplyDeleteI have been missing points as well for not following APA style fully. However, I have been following the template that our professor e-mailed us a few weeks back and that has been helpful in keeping my paper organized. Plus, it helped me break down the information so I was not rushing or stressing to get in complete all at once. That would be my best advice. I have tried to Google APA format and I got a lot of variations so I'm sticking to what the teacher gave us. Best of luck!
Charla,
ReplyDeleteI also have been having a hard time with visualizing how an advocacy plan looks like, and how it is supposed to look like as a presentation. A few weeks back I read that every advocacy plan is different and unique, and I think we all interpret things a little differently. After reading that I just decided I would just write it and present it how I interpret it, and hope for the best.
Charla,
ReplyDeleteI have no experience in any sort of Advocacy Plan, I have found that simply answering the questions that we are given one by one and then putting them into paragraph forms works the best. It is just like writing a paper, but you are explaining yourself in a sense. I just made mine straight to the point starting sentences off like 'my first long term goal is...' then I would explain that one, the next paragraph would be my short term goal and so forth. One resource I use to help me cite resources in APA is citationmachine.net you can type in the address you used (if it is an internet source) and if someone else has cited it before the information will pop up, if not you just type the information in and it formats it for you. Good luck!
